Why is monetary value the only thing important in our world?

It seems to me that in our world, the leaders of our country and even other countries only care about money! It makes me sick that our leaders can see that there are people in Africa that need our help but instead we are going to egypt to try and stop a fight so that our oil and gas prices will stay down. Are you kidding me?! Another reason money bothers me is because it creates ruthless power. People can not seem to get enough of it but the only thing it does is cause problems. People are homeless because they don't have enough money to own or rent, then people are buying fancy toilets because they don't know what to do with all of the money they have. That's really unfortunate. Money causes problems, you can't eat without money, you can't be clothed without money, you can't drive without money, you basically can't live without money. Our world has come to be a strict monetary world, but why can't we just go back to getting along and helping eachother out without using money as a standing point and a difference between what you can and can't do. The bottom line is that money can be good it's a system and it works well. The problem is that it can be used majorly wrong by extremely greedy people. That's when money becomes an evil thing, like a cuss word, it's not bad till you use it in a bad way. So we should do our best and not be greedy and hopefully we can make this world a better place. :)
